Not Just a Summer Job
Being a caddie is more than just a summer job. Yes, the money is good and the work is fun, and you can’t beat being outside all summer in beautiful surroundings. But more than that, it gives you the opportunity to grow into a young adult. Interacting with club members, who work in a variety of fields, can provide a view into potential career paths and job opportunities.
Scholarship Opportunities
Caddies who excel on the course and in the classroom (and have a financial need to meet college expenses) have the opportunity to become Evans Scholars. A caddie who earns an Evans Scholarship receives full tuition and room and board at over 15 different universities including Notre Dame, University of Illinois, University of Michigan, University of Wisconsin, Michigan State University, and Purdue University amongst others.
Learn Golf at FGC
By the way, you don’t have to play golf to become a caddie. The club and its members will help you on your journey as you begin to learn the game. Flossmoor Golf Club has had dozens of caddies earn Evans Scholarships over the years, and you could be the next!
