9 Oak

Hole #9
Oak Par 5 560 Yards

Oak

This hole is a good test of golf and a fitting finish to the front nine. The key to scoring here is maximizing the distance off the tee and the second shot distance (as the entire hole plays uphill) which will help the player hone in with precision to a very demanding two-tiered green complex. An expansive collar left of the green allows the player multiple recovery scenarios back to the green. Birdies are well deserved on this long and demanding par 5.

Long Fairway

The 9th is longest hole at FGC. This par 5 finisher to the front 9 is long from the blue tees, but gets championship long from the tips. Uphill the whole way, you'll need three good strikes to get into scoring position. The summer winds don't help you here.

Bunkers

All seven bunkers are located on the right side of this hole. Each positioned in the area of your next shot. The left side is protected by a large Oak grove.

Green

A smallish green that is bisected by a ridge in the middle of the green. This green looks to be uphill from front to back, but don't be fooled. A catch area to the right offers you multiple recovery shots: chipping, putting or lobbing.
